Artist Statement
My prints propose to educate audiences through performative aspects such as
distributing zines and empowering people to vote. The work is not limited to just
activism, it evokes a sense of play and allows for a cathartic way for me to express
myself. Feminism often permeates my practice through the use of imagery that is often
represented metaphorically by botanicals, houses, night scenes, and the human body. My
aesthetic sensibility revolves around symmetry, monochromatic color schemes, and the
gesturing of linework on paper.
I am continually motivated to explore and push the limits of printmaking by
incorporating complex layering, three-dimensional elements such as pop-up books,
sculptural paper objects, and strategic employment of light. Mediums such as screen
printing, letterpress, and lithography are used to make large-scale limited editions. I
continually strive to construct intricate imagery that evokes emotion as well as fosters
connections through our shared experiences.
